How we research and present water guidance

Water-quality decisions can affect health and household costs. We aim to distinguish public guidance, measured product claims, and general educational context.

Sources we prioritize

For public-health and testing guidance, we prioritize current information from U.S. federal agencies, state and local health departments, and certified laboratories. For product performance, we look for independent certifications, exact model listings, and manufacturer performance data sheets.

How we handle claims

We do not treat a marketing phrase or a filter technology name as proof that a specific product reduces a specific contaminant. Readers should verify the exact model, certified claim, and maintenance schedule with the certification body and manufacturer.

What this site does not do

  • We are not a water-testing laboratory or public-health authority.
  • We do not diagnose contamination or interpret an individual lab report.
  • We do not claim to test products unless a page describes the test method and evidence.
  • We do not replace advice from a state-certified laboratory, local health department, or qualified water-treatment professional.

Updates and corrections

Guidance and certifications can change. We date substantive source checks and link readers to the underlying sources so they can verify current recommendations. This preview does not yet publish a correction contact channel; one will be added before the custom domain launches. This site cannot review or respond to individual water test results.

Commercial relationships

No affiliate links, sponsored placements, or product endorsements are included in this initial publication. If commercial links are added later, each relevant page will identify them clearly, and compensation will not be presented as evidence of product performance.
